Notes / Requirements
  • Max kick length best practice: do not exceed 8′; add additional kicks as needed for the run.
  • Horizontal bracing (4″ wide × ¾″ thick) may be added to the middle members as needed for a screwing surface.
  • Loose toekick: a separate base the cabinet sits on, not notched into the box (see 2.3.1 Integral Toekicks).
  • Built as a ladder kick: front and back rails joined by cross members (sleepers).
  • Frame members: ¾″.
  • Footprint tracks the cabinet - width and depth vary.
  • Cabinets with recessed finished end toekicks are to be ¾″ from the edge of the cabinet end to the face of the finished toekick.
  • Scribed variant (second drawing): the scribe boards run long past the corners, trimmed (scribed) to fit the wall. Each board stays a single ¾″ - the scribe is not an added layer.
